NEG KREYOL PRESENTS:
Did you know?
Belo was Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He grew up in Petion-Ville and started singing since he was eleven years old. He went to the University of Haiti and got his degree in accounting before he started his musical career in 2005. In 2006, one year later, he won The Radio France International (Decouvertes) Prize. Belo is one of Haiti's most recognizable international solo artists.
Unlike most artists, he writes most of his songs and sings about relevant issues that ravage our country. Issues that he cares about and want to see improved. When he sings, he wants to bring change so his songs bring a message. A message of peace, a message against violence and a message against drugs. One of the things a lot of Haitians like about Belo is that he sings mostly in creole so that he can touch everyone in Haiti but mostly to reach out to the masses and to pierce the hears of the underprivileged, the ones who really need it. He not only bring them music, but hope. Hope for a better life, a better society and a better tomorrow.
On top of all of that, his songs are inspirational. When he sings, he lifts his countrymen spirits. His music is truly therapeutic. Belo started a movement that some may even say is a revolution. By his simple lifestyle, one can reach the conclusion that it is not about the money for him, it is about helping his country with his talents. Belo is on a mission; he has the momentum and his unstoppable. He promotes the Haitian culture everywhere in the globe. HE DOES EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO EXPOSE THE WORLD TO OUR HAITIAN CULTURE! He has been on tours across the globe: to countries like France, Germany, Canada, the United States, Vietnam, Mali, Togo, Ghana, Niger, Burkina Faso, Senegal and so many more.
WHO IS BELO? I’ll give you a hint! He’s always with his guitar.. His latest Album is “Natif Natal”. You might know his from my first hit song "Lakou Trankil". His name is Jean-Belony Murat better known as BelO but you can call him Haiti's musical ambassador.
